5 Healthy Daily Habits
Hello Girlfriends,
In this day and age, there is a real "culture" I guess you would call it around grinding 24/7 and working crazy hours. Social media has defiantly blown this up, to me, yes it is great that you might have a job you're passionate about and try and put all your energy into it.
However, at the end of the day that "grinding 24/7" isn't maintainable. You end up burnout and resenting or even hating the work you do. It also becomes harder to scale it back and start doing little things for yourself. I have learned this through my own experience.
So, I have personally decided to wind things back and start doing daily habits that fill up my cup and making sure I put myself as a priority.
So what are my top 5 healthy daily habits?
1. Move your body
I feel like this is a healthy habit everyone knows and hears about, and no I am not meaning going flat out at the gym. Move your body in a way that makes you happy, don't force yourself to do an exercise that you hate. Movement can be anything you want it to be. Do you like dancing around the house with music blaring, that's movement. Do you like a slow relaxed yin yoga session, stretching and slowly moving each muscle? Do you like a heavyweight session, walking or running? Do the thing that makes you happiest, there is no wrong way of moving your body. It's just the way that makes you happiest afterward.
2. Fuel your body with nutritious food
I think this is another habit that everyone harps on about and everyone has such different ways of approaching this. To me I try to keep everything in balance, I never deny myself a treat if that's what I am feeling. But I always try to be conscious of the food I am eating. I always try to start my day off with a green protein smoothie, it is full of all the good stuff but also helps with my sweet tooth.
3. Practice gratitude
This is a new practice for me and I honestly feel like it's made the world of difference in my mindset. I feel more positive, shifting my focus on the good and allowing the negatives to not bother me. Each day I list 3 things that I am grateful for whether that be the people I have interacted with that day, the sun, the moon, the fresh air on my walk, or having a swim in the ocean. Be grateful for the little things, so that the big things are even more special.
4. Connect with people you care about
Even when you are working from home or in an office, reach out to the people you care about. If you haven't spoken to a friend or family member in a while call them or send them a text, saying you're thinking of them. Whenever I receive a message from a girlfriend or family member saying that they are thinking of me or they are proud of me it makes my whole day. So why not reach out and connect with the ones you love the most.
5. Start your day with an affirmation
I am not going to lie, using an affirmation every day can be hard. If you were anything like me a few years back before I started my self-development/spiritual journey, I couldn't believe the words that were in the affirmation to ever happen to me. That is until I educated myself more and got really into my oracle cards and affirmations. I now write my own affirmations and recite them throughout the day and believe the words. Trust me when I say affirmations can change your whole mindset for the day.
Lots of Love,
